Cambodia

Our link to Cambodia came about through contact with Grahame and Sandra Wade (Australia) and Open Arms Cambodia. Open Arms Cambodia is a Christian organisation, a registered Khmer NGO located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and a member of Chab Dai Cambodia. Grahame and Sandra, together with a team of trained Khmer staff have been working through Open Arms for many years in a particular way: caring for the elderly and impoverished people living on the streets of Phnom Penh by providing hygiene packs, food and shelter, training underpriviliged and rescued young Cambodian people with practical skills as an alternative to working in the sex industry, and running a centre in the red light district where children and sex workers can come for food, clothing and education.

Since 2021 The David Ware Trust has been privileged to partner with this mission in Cambodia by sponsoring rice for struggling families, special Christmas gift care packs of nightwear and hygiene items, other regular care packs for ladies, and school bags and stationery items for 40 children.
